Eighty affordable homes for low-income seniors, two dozen of them reserved for people who were formerly homeless — Woodlawn Senior Living, developed by RiseBoro and designed by Paul A. Castrucci Architects, was never going to be judged on its Passive House credentials alone. The outdoor spaces get the same care: a dining terrace furnished with Iconic tables and FORO chairs, and a garden path lined with SC Series benches in yellow and orange, its gathering spots marked by boulders pulled from the site’s own excavation instead of trucked away as waste. The result treats a resident’s afternoon outside as seriously as the building’s energy performance. Woodlawn Senior Living opened in December 2022.
