AGORA, Gatineau, Quebec

AGORA is a forward-thinking, people-centered development in the Plateau area of Gatineau, crafted to foster connection and ease of movement. With seamless transit and bicycle access, AGORA’s central plaza, designed by landscape architects Projet Paysage, brings together natural and urban elements to form an inviting, fluid space that links the square with its surrounding neighborhood.

Spaces to Pause, Connect, and Unwind

Lined with shops, restaurants, and cafés, the square offers outdoor spaces that encourage people to sit, relax, and connect. Curved Ogden Benches, mounted flush on raised round concrete planting beds, offer moments of pause amid greenery.

Several raised circular concrete planting beds offer seating with Ogden Benches wallmounted on top.

Elsewhere, Ogden Backed Benches line the plaza’s pathways, creating comfortable seating areas that embrace the vibrant surroundings. The thoughtful arrangement supports a shared experience, where people can gather, unwind, and form connections within a welcoming landscape.

As night falls, the plaza transforms into a warm, inviting sanctuary, with ambient lighting illuminating the paths and seating areas. Underlit benches and hardscape elements add depth and dimension to the space, creating a soft glow that enhances visibility and invites evening visitors to linger. This lighting provides a sense of safety and amplifies the square’s welcoming atmosphere.

Designed for Active, Sustainable Transportation

AGORA’s design promotes active, sustainable modes of transportation with ease of access for walkability, biking, and public transit. Maglin 500 Series Bike Racks are conveniently placed throughout the square, providing secure, accessible storage for cyclists.
