Carbondale Community Center

Carbondale Community Center has been approved for Platinum LEED Certification because of its energy saving features and close to zero carbon footprint. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a program of the U.S. Green Building Council and the most widely recognized standard worldwide for sustainable, high-performance, low energy-use buildings.

When it opened in March of 2008, the rec center became just the second building in Colorado's Roaring Fork Valley seeking LEED certification. It is also one of the only community centers country wide to receive Platinum Certification.
