The Calgary Stampede Lassos Maglin Products!
Calgary Stampede, also known as "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" recognized the needs of the rapidly growing city of Calgary. By developing and expanding the scope of Stampede Park it is becoming a year-round destination, attracting Calgarians and visitors from around the world to a unique western experience through festival space, shops, restaurants, and all kinds of entertainment. Stampede Park is briskly growing into a multi-use community park; a green oasis in the heart of the city.
Maglin's design team worked closely with Carson • McCulloch Associates to design and develop a series of site furnishings that would meet the needs of this rapidly changing area yet hold true to the tradition that is the Calgary Stampede. With the guidance of Cristal McLean (Carson • McCulloch) and Rick Spiegelberg (Calgary Stampede) - Maglin's 1200 Series emerged. Ipe and Aluminum castings were selected for durability and easy maintenance. 8ft and 12ft versions of the backed and backless benches and 45 gallon trash/recycling containers were ordered to meet the needs of Stampede crowds. A very unique part of their product line up includes bike racks that are reminiscent of an old west hitching post. Both the bike racks and trash/recycling containers were customized to include the Stampede's Brand.
Over the coming years, many other exciting changes will solidify Stampede Park as a vibrant gathering place for all Calgarians and their guests to enjoy. The Calgary Stampede is building a legacy that will benefit Calgary well into the next century.
The Calgary Stampede is a volunteer-supported, not-for-profit community organization that preserves and promotes western heritage and values.
