Electrocoating - The First Line of Defence
E-coating is an automotive industry standard. It is an advanced coating method in which electrical current is used to attract a uniform paint film to the surface of the metal being painted.
Maglin's E-coating process includes ten stages of cleaners, sealers and electrostatic primer applied to the entire steel unit. The unit is actually immersed in a primer bath that allows the coating to flow into all joints and between overlapping surfaces. The primer coating is then baked onto the surface of the steel to create a bond that provides superior corrosion protection.
Maglin's E-coating process uses lead-free paint and chrome-free
sealers in a closed system, thus significantly reducing hazardous emissions.
